Eclipse cloud forecast: when to trust it and when to wait

A forecast for August 2026 cannot be precise months in advance. SkyWindow only shows provider data when a valid forecast time exists, and identifies stale, degraded or unavailable data.

The useful forecast window

Broad patterns can guide regional preparation; a travel decision needs recent data and repeated checks. Total cloud can hide important differences between low, medium and high layers, so we show all four. Rain and low Sun altitude matter too.

“Promising” is a transparent comparison label, not a probability or a promise of clear sky. Check the retrieval time, official sources and local access conditions before travelling.
